Bali, Indonesia
Things we like!
- The People are so nice and welcoming!
- Our Hotel! The pool and the breakfast buffet were amazing.
- Tropical scenery and Island vibe!
- Nasi Goreng – “Indonesian Fried Rice” (See link for description)
- The beach sunsets are to die for!
- Geckos – we love Geckos!
Things we didn’t like as much
- Traffic was always very heavy.
- The shop vendors were very aggressive – didn’t want to take “no” for an answer.
- My credit card was compromised the very first time we used it.
- We felt lots of pressure to spend money!
We decided to take a break from our Malaysian adventure in Kuala Lumpur to go to the island of Bali, Indonesia for two weeks. Michelle had been there as a kid with her family, but it was my first time, and I had very high hopes! Overall we had a good time in Bali, however my credit card number was stolen within our first 24 hours there and that wasn’t a great beginning. On the other hand, our hotel was amazing! The pool and the restaurant where we had an included breakfast buffet every morning was incredible! Our hotel was located steps from the beach. In the evenings we got to see some of the most breathtaking sunsets while drinking our favorite Bali Beer “Bintang’. Almost everyone spoke English here, so there was no language barrier.

Where we were
Legian Beach, Bali
This was our home for two weeks in November 2022. We loved our hotel, and we loved the sunsets on the beach, but Bali (at least the area we stayed in) was a bit of a disappointment. If we ever go back, we would likely try to stay at the north end of the island.
